These pillows are made with vintage aguayos from Bolivia and mantas from Peru from the mid-20th Century and earlier. Aguayos and Mantas are traditionally used by Bolivian and Peruvian women to tie around their back as baby-carriers and backpacks. Mantas are blankets, used to combat the crisp air of the high mountain altiplano.
