The Pilgrim Story

Pilgrim Imports originated over 35 years ago in a village outside of Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Every year craftspeople and their families gather for Pilgrim Family Day, a celebration featuring food, friends and fun. 

Four decades ago this was a chronically poor village. Economic despair forced close-knit families to separate, children went to work in Bangkok's factories and tourist trades, and traditional village life generally deteriorated in the face of poverty.

The villagers no longer consider sending their kids away to a big city since Pilgrim Imports arrived. Hundreds now work together to produce the art pieces Pilgrim buyers and customers love. This allows the community tor email together in their homeland, utilizing traditional metalworking skills. 

All of the jobs involved in producing Pilgrim's adorable ornaments and gifts are honest and clean. The Thai workers never dump refuse into rivers or landfills since they work where they live. No lead is used in the products they create.

Pilgrim jobs do not disrupt the flow of village life. During harvest season the workers can put down their metalworking tools and take to the fields and gardens.

The Thai villagers feel fortunate for the opportunity to improve their lives. They cherish family, food, and friendship and are overflowing with unforgettable hospitality and kindness.
